Leah Remini is embarking on a new chapter.
The King of Queens star has recently ended her marriage to Angelo Pagán, after nearly 30 years together.
“After 28 years as a couple and 21 years married, we have decided to file for divorce,” Leah and Angelo stated in a joint announcement on X (formerly Twitter) on August 29. “This choice was made after much reflection and thought, and while divorce is never easy, we are choosing to approach this with positivity as we believe it is what’s best for us.”
Although the pair—who share a 20-year-old daughter named Sofia—expressed that they feel “sad” about the end of their relationship, they emphasized their amicable separation, noting, “We are proud of how we navigated this decision together.”
“We have some adjustments to make as we transition into this new phase of our lives—staying connected in many ways while also embracing new ones,” they shared. “The truth is, we have been best friends for so long. We will continue to celebrate holidays together, enjoy our favorite shows, and spend time as a family.”
They concluded by saying, “We hope our experience can encourage others to recognize that changes in relationships—whether they evolve or conclude—are not failures.”
