Recently married Jana Duggar and Stephen Wissmann are currently undertaking renovations on their new home and inviting fans to follow along with their journey.
The star of Counting On, age 34, recently shared a video on YouTube on August 29, showcasing the “fixer-upper” they are transforming.
Duggar provided a detailed tour of their spacious Nebraska residence, which boasts two floors, five bedrooms, and full bathrooms on each level.
Additional features include a living and dining room, kitchen, basement, and utility/laundry area.
For nearly 12 years, Jana Duggar documented her life on TLC’s 19 Kids and Counting and Counting On, often contemplating when she would find her partner. “I’m just like…,” she expressed, reflecting on her journey.
The couple plans to merge two of the bedrooms into a larger master suite complete with an ensuite bathroom.
“Our plan is to remove this coat closet and the garage door,” she explained while showing the spaces. “We intend to combine bedroom one and bedroom two into the primary suite.”
“We’re removing the closet and relocating the door while shifting the wall over about five feet to maximize the space. The smaller room to the left will become the primary bathroom.”
The reality star highlighted a large area on the lower level that could potentially be converted into a game room or home theater.
Having gained fame alongside her parents, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, and 18 siblings on reality TV, Jana appears to be enlisting family members to assist with the renovations.
In her video, her father and some of her youngest sisters, including Jennifer, 17, helped with “Demo Day,” tackling tasks like ripping up carpets and tearing down drywall.
The Duggar family has captivated audiences since 2008 with their distinctive courtship traditions, a legacy they continue to uphold. Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar are parents to 19 children: Joshua, John-David, Joseph, Josiah, Jedidiah, Jeremiah, Jason, Justin, Jackson, and daughters Jana, Jill, Jessa, Jinger, Joy-Anna, Johannah, Jennifer, Jordyn-Grace, and Josie.
Jana is settling down in Stephen’s hometown of Nebraska after their wedding on August 15 in Prairie Grove, Arkansas. The state is already home to Stephen, who serves as a pastor and Bible study leader at East Fairview Mennonite Church in Milford, Nebraska.
While it’s still early in their journey, Jana expressed to People her excitement about the home renovation process. “We’ve been fixing up a little house we purchased, and that has been enjoyable,” she mentioned in an interview published on August 17.
Jana and Stephen exchanged vows on August 15, with her sister Jessa Duggar Seewald, age 31, as her maid of honor. Other bridesmaids included her sisters Jinger Duggar Vuolo, 30, Joy-Anna Forsyth, 26, Johannah Duggar, 18, and Jordyn Duggar, 15, along with her sister-in-law Abbie, married to Jana’s twin brother John-David Duggar. Jana’s father, Jim Bob, 59, walked her down the aisle.
