Leah Remini and Angelo Pagán are providing insight into their challenging decision.
After 28 years together, including 21 years of marriage, the former couple announced on August 29 their plans to divorce following over two decades as husband and wife.
In a joint statement addressing their decision, they elaborated on what brought them to this point.
“In simple terms, we’ve both changed, as people often do, and we found ourselves playing roles that no longer suited us,” their statement on Instagram revealed. “After much thought and effort, we’ve chosen to take this step, which reflects who we are today.”
Despite their divorce, Leah, 54, and Angelo, 55, who are parents to daughter Sofia, 20, plan to celebrate the holidays together, emphasizing that “our bond remains strong—it’s simply evolved into a different form.”
The King of Queens actress and her longtime partner described their marriage as a “great success.” They also expressed why they felt it was important to be transparent about the changes in their relationship.
