The Lawrence brothers — Joey, Matthew, and Andrew — have been prominent figures in entertainment since their early days on series like Blossom and Brotherly Love.
Their personal love lives have also attracted a fair amount of media attention throughout the years.
“It’s all about finding happiness,” Joey shared exclusively with Us Weekly in March 2024. “You have to be with the right person. … I’ve been married multiple times, but I’m just a hopeless romantic at heart.”
Joey was married to Chandie Yawn-Nelson from 2005 to 2020, during which they welcomed two daughters, Charleston and Liberty. Just under two years post-divorce, he began dating Samantha Cope. Joey and Cope tied the knot in 2022, but she filed for divorce two years later.

“You want to make it work so desperately, but you must prioritize your happiness. Life is short and so many don’t get to wake up every day, so I always thank the Lord for each day I receive,” Joey reflected in his interview with Us.
Furthermore, Joey expressed hope for his brothers’ happiness, particularly praising Matthew for his relationship with TLC’s Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas, which began in 2023 after Matthew’s tumultuous divorce from Cheryl Burke.

Joey Lawrence
Joey’s early romantic links included Kellie Martin, Keri Russell, Jennifer Love Hewitt, and Katherine Heigl. He officially tied the knot with Michelle Vella in 2002 but divorced three years later. His relationship with Yawn-Nelson lasted for 15 years, amidst financial difficulties including filing for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in 2017.
Post-divorce, Joey expressed a commitment to co-parenting amicably. “You’ve got to take the high road,” he advised in an August 2021 interview with Us.
In August 2021, it was announced that Joey proposed to Cope, whom he met on a film set, and they married the following year. Their daughter, Dylan, was born in 2023 before Cope initiated divorce proceedings in 2024, seeking sole physical custody.
The day after Cope’s divorce filing, allegations surfaced involving Joey and his Socked in for Christmas co-star Melina Alves, which Alves later denied.
The three Lawrence brothers continue to portray their strong sibling bond, both on screen and in life, as evidenced in NBC’s short-lived series Brotherly Love from 1995 to 1997.
Matthew Lawrence
Matthew had a brief romance with his BMW co-star Danielle Fishel before proposing to Heidi Muller in 2004, a relationship that ended two years later. He later dated Cheryl Burke from 2007 to 2019, marrying and subsequently divorcing her three years later.
“What I wanted in my marriage was for both of us to take responsibility and work together,” Burke stated on Red Table Talk in 2022.
Matthew and Burke’s divorce proceedings included a custody dispute over their French bulldog, Ysabella, which was resolved in Burke’s favor.
After the divorce, Matthew explored his dating options through the Raya app, connecting briefly with Rumer Willis.
Currently, Matthew is in a relationship with singer Chilli.
Andrew Lawrence
As of March 2023, Andrew shared with Entertainment Tonight that he is currently single but open to finding a new relationship.
In August 2024, People revealed that Andrew appears to be in a budding romance with Brittany McGowan, who joined him on a family vacation.
